Re-shoot and Re-edit Blog

Image
Hey everyone and welcome back to another blog! Today I will be talking about the process my group and I went through to re film and edit our film. We all met up one final time to re film a couple scenes that Mackena and Marissa's dad mentioned needed tweaking as well as some scenes the group wanted to change too. The first scene we tackled was park scene. This scene was just too busy. there were way too many people in the background, so we needed to change the scene asap. The twin's dad had mentioned earlier to maybe just change the location completely and I loved that idea. Since we were at Marissa and Mackena's house, Marissa came up with the great idea to use their community pool. This was a great idea! So, Mackena and I had to change back into the toddler's clothes we had from a couple weeks ago since this scene was of young Mackena and Riley.  Instead of the swing scene, Marissa came up with the idea to use chalk. SO another scene we filmed was of Mackena and I pl

Peer Review Blog

Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog! today I will be talking about the peer review process! Now that we finally finished our film, we were able to move on to the peer review. I was excited to have someone look at our work to make sure it was perfect! We decided to have Mackena and Marissa's dad review our film since he was at their house during most of the production. We gave him Peyton's phone and just awkwardly stood there waiting for what he had to say. After the twin's dad watched it, he really only had a few minor comments that were super fixable luckily. His first suggestion was that toddler's scenes of Mackena and I at the park were very busy. He pretty much meant that there were to many people in the background, and I honestly agreed. I remember the park being super busy that day and it taking forever to film. He suggested that we should find a different location.  His next suggestion was he didn't know that Mackena and Marissa were supposed to

Editing Blog - Final Touches

Image
Hello and welcome back! Today I will be talking about the final touches Peyton, and I made to perfect our film.  We left off with Peyton still editing the film, and I had to leave school early. The next day to my surprise she had finished editing the film! In class she was super excited to show me the film as was I. So, she should me the finished product and overall, it was really good. The scenes all matched up great, but there were still some edits that needed to be tweaked. The main thing that I noticed that needed to be fixed was the flashback scene of Mackena and I. More specifically the one of me finding Mackena in the laundry room while playing hide and go seek. The scene itself looked great but it needed a filter to add the flashback effect. Peyton agreed with me 100% that we needed to add a filter. So, we both sat down in class and went through a couple different filters. Peyton had already put a filter on, but it was really vague and unnoticeable. We both liked this filter,

Editing Blog - Scenes and Titles

Image
hello and welcome back to another blog! Today I will be talking about the editing process my group and I went through for the scenes and titles. Peyton was the main editor for this film. Since she filmed our music video from a couple months ago, and did such a great job, we all agreed that she should film it again. So, for the specific scenes Peyton used cap cut which worked great for us last time. Some of the scenes we filmed are in a different order then we originally planned. So, I recommended to Peyton to make sure all the scenes are put in correctly. While Peyton was putting some of the scenes in, the background noise was very present and annoying. We both realized certain scenes didn't need the diegetic sound, so Peyton made sure to lower the volume all the way down. Peytons ability to go through the content and edit so well was really cool to watch. There were a few more issues with some of the scenes being too lengthy but Peyton did a great job at making the scenes line up
