Music Blog
Hey everyone and welcome back to another blog! Today I will be talking about the process I went through with trying to find music for our film.
During the time of me looking for music we only had a few more scenes to film so I think it was a perfect time to start looking for the perfect background music. I knew that our film genre is thriller, so I wanted to make sure our music fit the genre accurately. I refreshed my knowledge on the type of music that would sound good, so I watched the opening sequence of two different movies but really just listened for the type of music to use.
After I did this, I had a much better idea of what type of music to look for. Majority of the music wasn't super scary. It had more of an eerie feeling. So, the next thing I did was went straight to YouTube to look for free music to use. I wanted to make sure that the music I found was free so that we didn't copyright. I searched "Thriller movie background music" to start and the first few songs that came up were way to dramatic for what I had imagined. I then searched up "eerie thriller background music." I liked some of the songs but of course the one I liked the most I needed to get permission for. Unfortunately, I don't have time to get it approved to use that sound because we as a group wanted to get the film done fast and not have to wait on someone to reply to us. After I saw that I tried one more time with the search. I searched up "free eerie thriller background music." After I typed that in, I clicked the first sound I found and loved it! I was super happy with the sound. It was exactly what I was envisioning. Before I got to excited, I made sure we were able to use the music and we were! I was so happy. I sent the link to the song in the group chat that we all share to see everyone's thoughts.
Peyton also found a song. I personally liked mine better but hopefully we can use both sounds which will be the best for everyone. Thats all for today, so I will see you guys in the next blog!
