Production Blog - The beginning of the End.

Hey friends and welcome back to my blog! Today I will be talking about some of the edits my group and I have made to the music video so far. As of right now there are about two scenes we have to complete. Other than that, we are done with the music video. Some of the things that needed to be edited were the scenes themselves. One of the scenes I was in were to short for the music video to have smooth transitions. Peyton and I realized we had to change that asap. When I went to the Fire station for the second time my main goal was to make sure I got that scene, and not forget. When the filming for that day was almost over, I realized I had not got that scene in. I reminded Peyton and she helped me film that scene really quick. This scene was very easy for me because I had already done the scene in the past. Peyton did have to film it twice. She filmed it twice just to be positive she had enough time. I was a little rushed re doing this scene just because I had to get home to my sis...

Production Blog - Getting our male actor

Image
Hey and welcome back everyone! Today we finally have out extra actor. My group and I were able to finally start filming the scenes that include the boy. We used our friend Connor. Today I will be talking about the scenes done including Connor. But before I start talking about the filming process with Connor let's talk about how I got there. Even though I'm 16 i do not own my own vehicle. I currently share a car with my grandpa, so there are some days I have a car and some days I do not. We wanted to film on a Friday and I knew I would not have the car that day. I then asked Marissa, since she has a car if she could take me. The problem with that was Marissas car could not fit all us. So I needed to find a way to get the car so I could be able to help film with peyton and the rest of the group. I was luckily able to get the car from my grandpa so I found transportation. Moving on to the filming process. On this day the group was in a hurry due to we all had other activities to ...

Production Blog - Becoming a Director

Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking about more filming! In the past couple weeks, I have been working with my group on some more scenes for the music video. The scenes that I will be talking about are scene seven and eight. These were fun to make in my opinion.  Scene seven took some time to film due to some firefighters needed to use the restroom. We wanted the bathroom, so we had to wait until they were done. Once they were done, we were able to get the scene of Marissa washing her face. Peyton started to film this scene. I didn't like how the camera was angled. Peyton let me take over filming for this scene to help get the camera angle just right. I wanted to make sure I got Marissa's emotions but also not have the camera in the mirror. I finally got the angle the way I liked. Everyone else liked it too so it worked out well.  I then moved to scene eight which was fun because we were able to use the Fire stations doors. They open up in a ver...

Production Blog - First time in a firehouse

Hello and welcome back to another production blog. Today's topic will be all about filming. My group and I started filming on Monday and completed two scenes. My group and I filmed both scene five and scene six. Scene five was the first scene we filmed because right now my group does not have a male for the scenes, we need so that's why my group and I filmed the scenes out of order.  This scene was personally really fun to do. When filming began, I mention to Marissa that she needs to look like she is crying to make the scene more believable. This scene was shot multiple times just so I could make sure we got the right angles and lightening. Peyton originally started filming this scene. I noticed after watching the first take that the camera seemed shaky so therefore, I helped Peyton keep the camera steady to make sure I got a clear image of Marissa in that specific scene. Once I helped Peyton, we got a one scene completed! Only 11 more to go!  Now moving on to scene six...

Production Blog - Struggles beginning the Music Video

Image
Hello and welcome back to my blog! This week we officially start our music video. I am very excited to finally start this journey, but it wasn't that simple. My group and I didn't realize how close some of the deadlines were for our music videos. We all came together and realized we needed to start filming as soon as possible. This didn't go as planned. All the days my teammates were available I was not. So, this made it hard to film. I work part time at Publix. So, I needed to be able to juggle work and leave open time to film the music video. Peyton also was unable to film that week. She had to go to a wedding. Because of me having work and Peyton going away we weren't able to start any sorts of filming until we made a schedule that truly worked for everyone. Last week my teammates and I finally sat down and made a schedule that we were all able to follow. Making this schedule really helped me, therefore I can have my week planned out and not miss any due dates. Afte...

Storyboard for my music video

Hey everyone, here is our storyboard for the music video! Scene One:   Marissa and her boyfriend driving into the parking lot getting ready for work.     Scene Two:   Cuddling up to one another while putting away their gear.     Scene Three:   A two-shot is used when Marrissa's boyfriend receives a text from a woman she does not know. An inset will be used to focus on the phone. He WON'T tell her what it said!     Scene Four:   An establishing shot. A sweeping view of the couple fighting. Following a tracking shot of Marissa running out.     Scene Five:   Marissa calls her best friend Riley to tell her that he is cheating. This will be a split screen as they are both on the phone.   Scene Six:   Riley comes to Marissa's room to console her. Marissa gives her a hug and thanks her.     Scene Seven:   With a point-of-view shot, Marissa goes to the bathroom to wipe her face from crying and then h...
